Happy Alley

Opposite of Angel Alley stands another alleyway leading to Ile-Ife Park. In 1996, inspired by the energy and innocence of some of the angelic images created by the children at the Village, Yeh decided to create a mural with those images. James Maxton mosaicked the mural with a group of teens in the summer work program and under his tutelage. The images brought people joy and happiness. So we decided to call the alley happy Alley.

Based on the works created by youth in her various workshops at the Village and in Korogocho, Nairobi, Yeh created a mural composed of children angels on the north side of the Happy Alley in 2003.
